The Braves won their second consecutive series with a 3-1 series win over Central Baptist College last weekend in Little Rock, Ark. Ottawa suffered its first loss of the season, 1-0, in nine innings. OU rebounded to take game two 6-5, game three 5-4, and game 4 8-5.

This season Ottawa has scored 52 runs, has a .269 batting average, a .395 on base percentage, and a .476 slugging percentage. OU has hit 11 home runs.

Ottawa is ranked 17th in the NAIA in home runs (11), 21st in sacrifice flies (5), second in stolen bases (35), fourth in caught stealing (8), 48th in ERA (3.99), 33rd in WHIP (1.16), and 10th in opponent batting average (.208).

Shaun Gomez, Jr. is leading the Braves in batting average (.500) and RBI (5). Jeremy Freeman, Jr. has 12 stolen bases. Zack Melendez leads OU in ERA (0.69) and strike outs (19).

OU is 3-1 away from Alumni Park this season. The Brave are hitting .250, have a .509 slugging percentage, a .311 on base percentage, and they were 9-for-15 in stolen base attempts. Ottawa's pitching staff has a 3.64 ERA with 34 strike outs in 29.2 innings pitched. Opponents are hitting .184 against the Braves.

Ottawa leads the series against Southwestern College with a record of 16-7-1. The Braves are on a nine game winning streak against the Moundbuilders. The last time OU was beaten by Southwestern was on March 28, 2021 in Winfield, 9-8. The first game between the Braves and Moundbuilders was on April 9, 1909 in Ottawa. The Braves won the game, 10-7. OU took the series last season in Winfield, 3-0. Ottawa won game one 12-4 on Feb. 23, 2024. OU took game two 12-1 in seven innings on Feb. 24, 2024 and game three 7-5 in eight innings.

This will be the first time that a game between Ottawa and Southwestern has been played anywhere other than Ottawa or Winfield. The series is being played in Saginaw, Texas at Saginaw High School.

In the Braves seven wins, they have a .285 batting average, walked 34 times, have a .420 on base percentage, and a .525 slugging percentage. In their lone loss, Ottawa has a .172 batting average, walked once, has a .200 on base percentage, and a .172 slugging percentage.

Southwestern College is 1-3 overall this season and enter the series coming off a 17-8 win over Central Christian College.

In four games this season, SWC has scored 25 runs, has a .238 batting average, a .407 on base percentage, and a .381 slugging percentage. They have hit two home runs.

JJ Cardinal leads the Moundbuilders in batting average (.429) and RBI (5). Lucas Knee is SWC's leader in stolen bases (2). Micah Cleveland leads Southwestern in ERA (3.86) and Jason Kramlich is the team's leader in strike outs (5).

SWC is ranked 35th in the NAIA in strike outs (27) and 43rd in sacrifice hits (3).

In Southwestern's win this season, the Moundbuilders had a .333 batting average, a .591 on base percentage, and a .593 slugging percentage. Southwestern walked 12 times. In their three losses, SWC had a .205 batting average, a .319 on base percentage, and a .308 slugging percentage. They had averaged five hits, 1.5 runs, and seven strike outs per game.

Southwestern's hitters are averaging seven walks per game, seven strike outs per game, and six hits per game.
