RED OAK, Iowa – The Ottawa University men's tennis team won its first match of the season, defeating Doane University 7-0 on Sunday afternoon at the YMCA.

Jarmo Perez Wienese and Enzo Ceravolo won their no. 1 doubles match 6-4. Oscar Giorgio and Ben Russell took a 6-0 victory in no. 2 double. Barnardo Figueiredo and Daniel Sanchez won their no. 3 doubles match 6-2.

Wienese defeated Jose Purizada 6-2, 6-3 in no. 1 singles. Giorgio won his no. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-2. In no. 3 singles, Russell defeated Andre Hartman 6-2, 6-2. Ceravolo defeated Julia Avila 6-2, 6-2 in no. 4 singles. Figueiredo won his no. 5 singles match 6-0, 6-1 over Tanner Adams. Sanchez took a 6-3, 6-3 victory in no. 6 singles over Christian Jensen.

Ottawa (1-1) returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 20 in Seward, Neb. against Concordia University. The match is scheduled to being at 11:00 a.m.
