LINCOLN, Neb. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team won its second straight match, defeating Concordia University 4-3 at the Genesis Racquet Club on Friday morning.
Ben Russell and
Oscar Giorgio won their no. 1 doubles match 6-4 over Nick Velders and Hugo Fuentes.
Bernardo Figueiredo and
Santiago Tartaglia fell 7-6 (4) in their no. 2 doubles match to Michael Bedrosian and Manuel Rodriguez. In no. 3 doubles,
Yuki Usuda and Daniel Sanchez were defeated 6-2 by Ben Chisholm and Santiago.
Tartaglia took a 6-3, 6-4 victory in no. 1 singles. Giorgio lost his no. 2 singles match 7-6 (4), 6-4. Russell won his no. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-3. In no. 4 singles, Figueiredo took a 6-4, 7-6 (3) victory. Sanchez was victorious in no. 5 singles 7-6, 7-6. Usuda lost in no. 6 singles, 6-3 6-0.
Ottawa returns to the court on Saturday, March 1 against John Brown University on the OU campus courts. The match is scheduled to be played at 10:00 a.m.
