EMPORIA, Kan – The Ottawa University men's tennis team was defeated 7-0 by Emporia State University at Kossover Tennis Center on Sunday morning.
 
Ben Russell and Oscar Giorgio fell 6-1 in no. 2 doubles. Enzo Ceraveolo and Jarmo Perez-Wienese
won their no. 1 doubles match to tie the doubles point at 1-1. The Hornets took the point with a no. 3 double victory. OU's Daniel Sanchez and Bernado and Figueiredo lost 6-4.
 
Giorgio fell in his no. 1 singles match 6-2, 6-1. Russell lost in a tough three set match in no. 2 singles 6-3, 6-7 (5), 6-0. Ceravolo fell 6-0, 6-3 in no. 3 singles. Sanchez was defeated 6-1, 6-4 in no. 4 singles. Figueiredo lost his no. 5 singles match 6-2, 6-2. Yuki Usuda fell in his no. 6 singles match 6-0, 6-0.
 
Ottawa (0-1) returns to the court on Saturday, February 15 in Red Oak, Iowa against Doane University. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. and will be held at the YMCA.
