OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team fell 5-2 to Morningside University in Forest Park on Friday morning.
Daniel Sanchez and
Enzo Ceravolo won their no. 1 doubles match 6-4 over Mark Trenkle and Santiago Minetti.
Oscar Giorgio and
Ben Russell took a 6-3 victory in no. 2 doubles against Marcus Mendez and Alexis Diaz to give OU the doubles point.
Santiago Tartaglia and
Bernardo Figueiredo fell 6-1 in no. 3 doubles to Mathys Arnold and Jesse Gerth.
Figueiredo won his no. 4 doubles match 6-3, 6-2 over Minetti. Tartaglia lost in three sets to Trenkle in no. 1 singles 1-6, 6-0, 6-4. Russell fell 6-2, 6-3 in no. 2 singles to Mendez. Giorgio lost his no. 3 singles match 7-5, 6-1 to Diaz. Sanchez was defeated 6-1, 6-0 in no. 5 singles to Arnold. Usuda lost to Gerth in no. 6 singles 6-1, 6-2.
Ottawa (5-5) returns to action on Saturday, March 15 against Evangel University in Springfield, Mo. The match is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.
