SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team defeated Evangel University 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
 
Oscar Giorgio and Ben Russell won their no. 2 doubles match 6-1 over Gabriel Leal and Emilio Chavarria. The Braves took the doubles point with Santiago Tartaglia and Bernardo Figueiredo's victory in no. 3 doubles. The duo defeated Vinicius Costa and Etienne Bouche 7-6 (4). Enzo Ceravolo and Daniel Sanchez lost their no. 1 doubles match 6-2 to Gabriel Esmanhotto and Angel Gomez
 
Tartaglia won his no. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-4 over Gomez. Russell took a 7-5, 6-3 victory in no. 2 singles. Giorgio defeated Leal 6-1, 6-2 in no. 3 singles. Figueiredo won 7-5, 6-1 in no. 4 singles over Tiago Galoppo. Ceravolo earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory in no. 5 singles against Esmanhotto. Sanchez won his no. 6 singles match 6-4, 6-4 against Bouche.
 
The Braves (6-5, 2-0) return to the court on Monday, March 17 in Forest Park against Northwest Missouri State University. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
