(21) Baseball Starts Its 3 Game Series at Tabor on Friday

The Braves are 27-5 overall, are in first place in the KCAC with a record of 18-3, have a road mark of 8-3, are ranked no. 21 in the NAIA, and have won four straight games.

Through 32 games this season, Ottawa has scored 322 runs and hit 55 home runs. OU has a .352 batting average, a .463 on base percentage, and a .616 slugging percentage.

Brian Parry leads OU in batting average (.423), Cole Broughton leads the team in RBI (41), Jeremy Freeman, Jr. is OU's leader in stolen bases (25), and Zack Melendez is Ottawa's leader in ERA (2.68) and strike outs (49).

In the final game of the series with Evangel University, OU had a runner on first and trailed 8-7 in the bottom of the seventh inning on Saturday. Alaniz hit a walk-off home run to give the Braves a 9-8 victory.

Ottawa is ranked 31st in the NAIA in at bats (978), eighth in runs (322), 12th in hits (344), ninth in doubles (75), 30th in triples (9), eighth in home runs (55), 11th in RBI (284), fifth in extra base hits (139), eighth in total bases (602), 35th in walks (157), 18th in hit by pitch (59), 42nd in sacrifice flies (15), 28th in sacrifice hits (16), third in stolen bases (134), third in caught stealing (26), 11th in batting average (.352), 13th in on base percentage (.463), sixth in slugging percentage (.616), 21st in ERA (4.70), 24th in WHIP (1.44), 25th in batting average (.249).

The Braves are ranked third in the NAIA in stolen bases with 134. That total is ranked second in the OU single season record book. 155 stolen bases is the number to beat. Ottawa set that record in 2022. Jeremy Freeman, Jr. is tied for eighth (25) in the NAIA in stolen bases and Brian Parry is tied for 21st (20) in the NAIA in stolen bases.

Ottawa has a record of 56-65 against Tabor College. The Bluejays are on a seven game winning streak against the Braves. Ottawa's last win over Tabor was on April 23, 2022 at Alumni Park. Then, no. 13, Ottawa defeated, then, no. 22 Tabor 13-5. OU has lost four straight to Tabor in Hillsboro. Ottawa's last win in Hillsboro was on April 10, 2021. OU won the game 8-7. The first ever game between the two teams happened on April 4, 1989 in Hillsboro. Tabor won the game 13-3.

Tabor College is 19-10 overall and 11-6 in the KCAC. The Bluejays are on a four game winning streak, and have a record of 4-1 at home this season. Tabor's four straight wins come against Dakota State and Oklahoma Wesleyan with a football score of 25-15 on Tuesday in Hillsboro.

In 29 games this season, Tabor has scored 304 runs and hit 59 home runs. The Bluejays have a .361 batting average, a .461 on base percentage, and a .605 slugging percentage.
