LINDSBORG, Kan. – The (RV) Ottawa University men's tennis team defeated Bethany College 5-2 on Saturday afternoon. The Braves remain in first place in the KCAC with an unblemished conference record and two matches remaining.
Oscar Giorgio and
Ben Russell won their no. 1 doubles match 7-5 (13) over Francisco Bravo and Martin Priban.
Valentin Corriger and Daniel Sanchez lost 7-6 (7) to Zeke Mumford and Dylan Gwilt.
Bernardo Figueiredo and
Luis Figueiredo fell 7-6 (5) to Carlos Rodriguex and W. Alexandro Rocio.
Russell, playing no. 1 singles, defeated Braco 6-2, 7-5. Giorgio won his no. 2 singles match 7-6 (1), 6-1 over Priban.
Bernardo Figueiredo took a 6-2, 6-4 victory in no. 3 singles over Mumford. Sanchez won his no. 4 singles match 7-6 (10), 7-5 over Lozano.
Yuki Usuda fell 6-4, 7-6 (2) in his no. 5 singles match to Gwilt. Corriger won his match over Rodrigues in no. 6 singles 5-7, 6-2, 6-1.
Ottawa (14-6, 10-0) returns to the court on Tuesday, April 15 against the University of Saint Mary in Forest Park. The match is scheduled to being at 11:00 a.m.
