LINDSBORG, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team will be playing in its second straight KCAC Tournament Championship match after defeating Evangel 4-0 on Friday morning at the Emory Lindquist Tennis Center.
Osar Giorgio and
Ben Russell's no. 2 doubles win over Tiago Galoppo and Gabriel Leal gave OU a 1-0 lead in the doubles point. Ottawa clinched the point with Daniel Sanchez and
Santiago Tartaglia's victory in no. 3 doubles over Vinicius Costa and Etinne Bouche.
Tartaglia won his no. 1 singles match 6-0 6-0 over Angel Gomez to give the Braves a 2-0 lead. Russell's 6-1, 6-1 victory in no. 3 singles over Leal increased the OU lead to 3-0.
Enzo Ceravolo took a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Gabriel Esmanhotto in no. 5 singles to give the Braves the 4-0 victory.
Ottawa (18-6) will play McPherson College in the KCAC Tournament Championship game on Saturday, April 26 in Lindsborg, Kan. The match is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
