NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team are in first place in the KCAC after defeating Bethel College 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon.
Ottawa took the doubles points to take the early lead.
Oscar Giorgio and
Ben Russell won their no. 2 doubles match 7-6 (10-8).
Santiago Tartaglia and Daniel Sanchez took a 6-2 victory in no. 3 doubles.
Enzo Ceravolo and
Jarmo Perez Wienese lost 6-2 in no. 1 doubles.
Tartaglia won his no. 1 single match 6-0, 6-3. Russell took a 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory in no. 3 singles. Sanchez earned a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 victory in no. 6 singles. Perez Wienese fell 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 in no. 2 singles. Giorgio lost 6-4, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (4) in no. 4 singles. Figueiredo lost 6-4, 6-4 in no. 5 singles.
Ottawa (11-6, 7-0) returns to the court on Monday, April 7 in Forest Park against the University of Saint Mary. The match is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.
