LAWRENCE, Kan. - The Ottawa men's tennis team opened their season with a win as they defeated Baker University by a score of 6-1 on Friday evening in Lawrence.
Santiago Tartaglia won the no. 1 singles match 1-6, 6-2, 10-5 over Juan Avila, while
Jarmo Perez Wienese won the no. 2 singles match 6-4, 6-4 over Immo Ferger.
Enzo Ceravolo won no. 3 singles 6-4, 6-3 over Corvin Christ,
Daniel Sanchez Rojas won no 4. singles 6-1, 6-0 against Arturo Nunez.
Yuki Usuda beat Carlos Alcala 6-2, 6-2 in no. 5 singles, and Valentin Corrier beat Kaleb Nelson 6-1, 6-0 in no. 6 singles.
Ottawa (1-0) returns to the court on September 19-20 at the KCAC Individual Championships in Lindsborg, Kan.
