2013 (Track and Field): Kessler earned All-KCAC honors in the 400M at the KCAC Championships with a fourth place finish. She ran a personal best time of 1:00.74. In the triple jump, Kessler had a season’s best jump of 34-02.75 at the Darrel Gourley Open.
2013 (Women’s Soccer): In her sophomore season Kessler made the successful switch from midfield to defender earning Second Team All-KCAC honors. She finished the season with four goals and two assists for a total of 10 points. Kessler earned KCAC Defensive Player of the Week once. She also excelled in the classroom, earning Daktronic Scholar Athletes honors, Capital One Academic Second Team All-American recognition, and Capital One Academic All-District 3 First Team honors. Kessler also earned the Dudley Geise Champions of Character Award given by the Braves Athletic Hall of Fame (BAHOF).
2012 (Women’s Soccer): Kessler appeared and started in 19 games, earning Honorable Mention All-KCAC honors. She scored three goals, had two assists, took 32 shots with 12 being on goal, and she had one game winning goal. Kessler recorded her first career goal and game winning goal against Hope International University (9/13) and her first collegiate assist against Bethel College (10/3). She did well as a freshman in the classroom as well, earning the Medal of Excellence in the classroom, the CRC Press Chemistry Achievement Award, and she was named to the KCAC All-Academic team.
High School: Kessler was a four year letter winner in soccer and track for Paola High School. She earned three letters in basketball for the Panthers. Kessler was a Second Team All-Conference selection on the soccer pitch. She earned Second Team All-Conference honors on the basketball court, was a Burlington Invitational All-Tournament Team selection, and was a two-time state qualifier on the track. Kessler was a state track medalist in 2011.
