Outdoor 2014: Running in his first 800M race at the Wildcat Open, Carlson ran a personal best time of 2:05.01. He ran a personal best time of 4:13.25 in the 1500M at the ESU Relays. Carlson ran a season best time of 9:19.24 in the 3000M at the Bo Boucek Invite. He earned All-KCAC honors in the 5000M with a season’s best time of 15:59.96 at the KCAC Outdoor Championships.
Indoor 2014: Carlson ran a personal best time of 9:32.66 in the 3000M at the KCAC Indoor Championships. He earned All-KCAC honors in the 5000M with a personal best time of 16:32.96 and in the Distance Medley Relay (8:14.14) at the KCAC Indoor Championships.
Outdoor 2013: In his sophomore season, Carlson finished eighth at the KCAC Championships in the 5000M with a personal best time of 15:58.86 to earn All-KCAC honors. At the ESU Relays, he finished with a personal best time of 9:18.23 in the 3000M.
Indoor 2013: At the KCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, Carlson finished 15th in the 3000M with a time of 9:42.29 and 11th in the 5000M with a time of 16:23.85. He ran a season best time of 9:35.06 in the 3000M at the Mule Relays.
Outdoor 2012: Carlson ran a season’s best time of 16:01.32 in the 5000M at the State Farm ESU Relays (4/7). He ran personal best time of 4:20.51 in the 1500M at the Wendy’s Tabor College Invitational (4/18).
High School: Carlson was a four year letter winner in track, earned three letters in cross country and two in basketball for the Bearcats of Burlingame High School. On the cross country course, he finished sixth at state in 2010, fourth in 2009 and 25th in 2008. On the track, Carlson finished 13th in the 3200, 13th in the 4x800 in 2010 and 11th in the 3200 in 2009. He earned All-State in cross country twice. Carlson has a personal best in the 5K of 16:45, in the 3200 (10:08), in the 1600 (4:45), and the 800 (2:06).
Personal: Son of Ron and Bonnie Carlson ... born April 25, 1993 ... accounting major. He likes butterscotch for dessert and enjoys watching the television show “Two and a Half Men” and the move “Zombieland.” If Carlson could be an animal it would be an elk because they can run a mile in a minute. He enjoys listening to Eminem and likes to hunt in his spare time.
