Outdoor 2014: Smoote qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships with the 4x100M Relay team. The Braves ran a season’s best time of 41.83 at the KCAC Outdoor Championships. Smoote ran a personal best time of 11.55 in the 100M at the PSU Open. He ran a personal best time of 23.10 in the 200M at the Tabor College Invite. Smoote ran a season’s best time of 55.38 at the Darrel Gourley Open. He earned All-KCAC honors in the 400M IM Hurdles with a season’s best time of 1:00.30 at the KCAC Outdoor Championships.
Indoor 2014: In the 200M at the KCAC Indoor Championships, Smoote ran a personal best time of 23.81. He ran a personal best time of 6.89 in the 55M at the Dutch Athletic Classic. Smoote ran a personal best time of 7.24 in the 60M at the KCAC Indoor Championships.
Outdoor 2013: Smoote ran a season’s best time of 1:00.66 at the Wildcat Open in the 400M IM Hurdles.
Indoor 2013: Smoote finished the season with a personal best time of 7.47 in the 60M at the Mule Relays. He ran a 24.45 in the 200M at the KCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. In the 300M, Smoote ran a personal best time of 39.60 at the K-State All-Comers Meet. He finished with a time of 56.75 in the 400M at the Concordia Classic.
Outdoor 2012: Smoote ran an 11.57 in the 100M and a 1:01.50 in the 400M Hurdles at the Mule Relays. In the 200M at the State Farm ESU Relays, he ran a season’s best 23.49 and then ran a 54.18 in the 400M. Smoote made it to the finals in the 400M IM Hurdles at the KCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a personal best time of 59.95.
High School: Smoote earned one letter in track at Fountain Fort Carson High School.
Personal: Son of Cydney Smoote ... born August 23, 1993 ... human services major. Smoote enjoys watching the 4x400M Relay and his hobbies include camping and playing basketball. Smoote’s favorite food is hot wings and he enjoys watching “House of Payne” and the movie “The Guardian.”
