NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team won its third straight match with a 5-2 victory over Bethel College on Saturday afternoon at the Ward Tennis Center. OU took the doubles point, 2-1 and finished with a record of 4-2 in singles.
Scott Hjelm, Jr. and
Oscar Aguilera won their no. 2 doubles match 6-3 over Nolan Schrader and Jordan Singh. Erik Czapiniski and
Luke Graham took a 6-2 victory in no. 3 doubles over Joaquin Pluis and Tomas Quercia.
Jhoel Quinonez and
Andris Gudins fell in their no. 1 doubles match, 7-5, to Michael Cech and Milan Bucek.
Gudins took a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Cech in no. 1 singles. Hjelm fell 6-0, 6-0 in no. 2 singles to Bucek. Quinonez took a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Schrader in no. 3 singles. Aguilera won his match 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 over Quercia in no. 4 singles. Czapinski lost 6-2, 6-2 in no. 5 singles to Pluis. Graham took a 7-6, 7-5 victory over Singh in no. 6 singles.
The Braves are back in action on Thursday, April 7 in Forest Park against Sterling College. The match is scheduled to begin at 3pm.
