SALINA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team fell 6-1 to Kansas Wesleyan University at The Pines on Saturday morning. Ottawa took the double point 2-1 but fell 6-0 in singles to the Coyotes.
Andris Gudins and
Jhoel Quinonez defeated Daniel Harkin and Alex Sherer 7-6 (8-4) in no. 1 doubles.
Scott Hjelm, Jr. and
Oscar Aguilera fell 6-2 in their no. 2 doubles match to Bryce Ware and Garrison Wright.
Luke Graham and
Erik Czapinski defeated Luke Craft and Braeden Lewis 6-3 in no. 3 doubles.
Gudins lost in three sets in no. 1 singles to Harkin 7-5, 2-6, 6-4. Hjelm was defeated 6-0, 6-2 in no. 2 singles by Ware. Quinonez fell 7-5, 7-6 (8-6) in no. 3 singles to Sherer. Aguilera fell in three sets to Wright 6-3, 1-6, 6-2. Czapinski lost to Vera in no. 5 singles and Graham was defeated in no. 6 singles by Wes Robertson.
The Braves return to action on Sunday, April 24 against Rockhurst University. The match is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
