OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team ended the regular season with a 7-0 victory over Friends University on Monday afternoon at the campus courts. Ottawa won the double point, 2-1 and had a record of 6-0 in singles.
Andris Gudins and
Jhoel Quinonez won their no. 1 doubles match 6-4 over Hugo Prats Nicolas and Franco Iozzo.
Erik Czapinski and
Oscar Aguilera earned a victory by default in their no. 3 doubles contest.
Scott Hjelm, Jr. and
Luke Graham lost 6-2 in their no. 2 doubles match.
Gudins won his no. 1 singles match 6-2, 6-3. Quinonez took a 6-1, 6-1 victory in no. 2 singles. Hjelm earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory in no. 3 singles. Aguilera won his no. 4 singles match 8-5. Graham was victorious in his no. 5 singles match 8-6. Czapinski earned a victory by default in no. 6 singles.
Ottawa (7-9, 6-3) will now compete in the KCAC Tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday, April 28. OU will host Bethel College at 3:00 p.m.
