TOPEKA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team fell 4-0 to McPherson College in the KCAC Tournament semifinals. The Bulldogs will now play the winner of the Kansas Wesleyan University/Southwestern College semifinal match at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at the Kossover Tennis Center.
Ottawa's no. 1 doubles team of
Andris Gudins and
Jhoel Quinonez took a 6-3 victory over Jakob Komel and Trey Murphy.
Scott Hjelm, Jr. and
Oscar Aguilera fell 6-3 in their no. 2 doubles match to Michael Beltran and Michael Millos. In no. 3 doubles,
Luke Graham and
Erik Czapinski lost 6-3 to Oscar Brouwer and Daniel Marcano.
No. 1, no. 2, and no. 3 singles matches went three sets. Beltran defeated Gudins 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 in no. 1 singles. Millos took a 6-4, 0-6, 6-4 victory over Hjelm in no. 2 singles. Quinonez fell 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 to Marcano in no. 3 singles.
Ottawa finishes the season with an overall record of 7-9.
