Dony McKnight's first career men's tennis coaching victory. The Braves finished singles with a record of 6-0 and earned the doubles point, 3-0.
Santiago Tartaglia won his no. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-3 over Nick Smeltzer.
Jhoel Quinonez took a 6-0, 6-0 victory in no. 2 singles over Ryan Hunter. In no. 3 singles,
Oscar Giorgio defeated Thane Waite 6-3, 6-0.
Kevin Ugarteche won his no. 4 singles match, 6-2, 6-0.
Julian Toloza took a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Ethan Mins in no. 5 singles.
Oscar Aguilera won his no. 6 singles match 6-2, 6-0 over Lopez.
Aguilera and Toloza defeated Smeltzer and Franke 6-2 in no. 1 doubles. In no. 2 doubles, Quinonez and Ugarteche won their match 6-1 over Mins and Lopez. Tartaglia and Giorgio won their no. 3 doubles match 6-0 over Waite and Hunter.
Ottawa (1-0) returns to the court on Sunday, Feb. 12 in North Kansas City, Mo. against no. 11 William Woods University at the Northland Racquet Club. The match is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
