OTTAWA, Kan. –  The Ottawa University men's tennis team started KCAC play with a 7-0 victory over conference newcomer, Evangel University, on Monday afternoon in Forest Park. Ottawa won the doubles point 2-0 and took singles, 6-0.

Kevin Ugarteche and Jhoel Quinonez won their no. 1 doubles match 6-2 over Tomas Villamil and Emilo Chavarria. Oscar Giorgio and Julian Toloza took a 6-1 victory in no. 2 doubles over Gabriel Leal and James Mcllwaraith. Oscar Aguilera and Erik Czapinski's no. 3 doubles match was unfinished.

Giorgio took a 6-2, 6-3 victory in no. 1 singles over Mihajlo Milosavlijev. Ugarteche won his no. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-2 over Chavarria. Toloza defeated Leal 6-1, 6-3 in no. 3 singles. Quinonez won 6-0, 6-1 over Mcllwraith in no. 4 singles. Quilera won his no. 5 singles match in three sets, 2-6, 6-3, 10-7 over Villamil. Czapinski defeated Jarrett Teel 6-2, 6-2 in no. 6 singles.

Ottawa (5-2, 1-0) returns to action on Thursday, March 23 in a road contest against Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Okla. The match is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
