BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team moved to 2-0 in the KCAC with a 7-0 victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan University on Wednesday afternoon. The Braves won the doubles point, 3-0 and took singles, 6-0.
Oscar Aguilera and
Erik Czapinski won their no. 3 doubles match 6-1 over Adam Spencer and Michael McHugh. Ottawa won the doubles point with
Jhoel Quinonez and
Kevin Ugarteche's no. 1 doubles victory over Clement Martin and Diego Navarro, 6-3.
Oscar Giorgio and
Julian Toloza won their no. 2 doubles match 6-2.
Ottawa took a 2-0 lead over OKWU with an
Erik Czapinski win in no. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Oscar Aguilera gave OU a 3-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-0 win in no. 5 singles. Quinonez's win in no. 4 singles clinched the match for the Braves. He defeated Preston Callahan 6-3, 6-0.
Toloza won his no. 3 singles match 6-1, 6-1 over Richard Hoyte. Giorgio defeated Navarro in no. 2 singles and Ugarteche took a 2-6, 6-4, 10-7 victory in no. 1 singles.
Ottawa (6-2, 2-0) returns to action on Saturday, March 25 in a KCAC match against Sterling College in Forest Park. The match is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m.
