HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team moved to 5-0 in KCAC play with a 7-0 victory over Tabor College at the Tabor College Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon. The Braves won the doubles point, 3-0 and had a record of 6-0 in singles.

Jhoel Quinonez and Kevin Ugarteche defeated Mickel Alexander and Ethan Kutz 6-2 in no. 2 doubles to take a 1-0 lead over Tabor. Ottawa's no. 3 doubles team of Erik Czapinski and Oscar Aguilera defeated Jordan Azenka and Elvis Ghomsi 6-2 to clinch the point for OU. In no. 1 doubles, Oscar Giorgio and Julian Toloza earned a 6-4 victory over Mateo Garcia and JP Fort.

Toloza's victory in no. 3 singles over Alexander 6-2, 6-1 gave the Braves a 2-0 lead over Tabor. Quinonez's 6-3, 6-1 win over Garcia in no. 1 singles gave OU a 3-0 lead over the Bluejays. Ottawa clinched the match with Giorgio's 6-3, 6-3 win in no. 4 singles over Azenka, 4-0. Santiago Tartaglia won his no. 2 singles match 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 over Fort. Ugarteche defeated Kutz 6-0, 7-5 in no. 5 sinlges. Aguilera took a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Jacob Goertzen in no. 6 singles.

Ottawa (9-2, 5-0) returns to action on Thursday, April 6 in Wichita, Kan. against Friends University. The match is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
