TOPEKA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team's season ended with a 4-1 loss to Southwestern College in the KCAC Tournament semifinals at the Kossover Tennis Center on Friday morning. Southwestern took the doubles point 2-0 and had a record of 3-1 in singles.
Santiago Tartaglia and
Oscar Aguilera fell 6-4k to Benjamin Erdmann in no. 2 double. The Moundbuilders took the point in a no. 3 doubles victory.
Jhoel Quinonez and
Kevin Ugarteche lost 6-4 to Federio Poi Albert Modol.
Ugarteche fell 6-0, 6-1 to Modol in no. 4 singles and Southwestern had a 2-0 lead. Ottawa cut into the deficit with Tartaglia's 6-3 6-2 win over Federico Poi in no. 1 singles, 2-1.
Oscar Aguilera fell 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 in no. 6 singles and SWC led 3-1. The Moundbuilders clinched the match with a win in no. 2 singles. Toloza fell 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 to Kitchin and Southwestern took the 4-1 victory.
Ottawa finishes the season with an overall record 14-5 and a third place finish in the KCAC.
