WICHITA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's tennis team moved to 6-0 in the KCAC with a 7-0 victory over Friends University at the Riverside Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon. Ottawa won the doubles point, 3-0, and had a mark of 6-0 in singles.
Oscar Aguilera and
Kevin Ugarteche won their no. 1 doubles match 7-5 over Augusta Morais and Dallas Elmore.
Oscar Giorgio and
Julian Toloza defeated Christian Martin and Ethan Chouinard 6-2.
Jhoel Quinonez and
Santiago Tartaglia won their no. 3 doubles match by default.
Erik Czapinski took a 6-0, 6-0 victory in no. 6 singles. Aguilera defeated Alec Hinojos 7-5, 6-0 in no. 5 singles.
Austin Ramirez won his no. 4 singles match 6-2, 6-2 over Chouinard. Ugarteche defeated Elmore in no. 3 singles 6-2, 6-0. Tartaglia won his no. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-0 over Martin. Quinonez, playing no. 1 singles, defeated Morais 6-0, 6-1.
Ottawa (10-2, 6-0) returns to action on Saturday, April 8 in Forest Park against Bethany College. The match is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
