2012: Coomes earned Honorable Mention All-KCAC at linebacker for the Braves. He finished the season with 64 tackles, one sack, and six pass breakups. Coomes had a career high 11 tackles against Sterling College (10/20).

Dodge City Community College: Coomes was a two year letter winner for DCCC. He had 136 tackles, six forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and one interception. As a kick returner, he had three returns for 30 yards.

High School: At Phillipsburg High School, Coomes earned four letters in football and wrestling. He was an Honorable Mention All-Mid-Continent League selection in 2009 at safety and quarterback. In 2010, Coomes was a First Team All-Mid-Continent League selection at safety and earned Honorable Mention All-Mid-Continent League honors at quarterback. He helped lead the Panthers to a 2009 District Championship. In wrestling, Coomes was a two-time state participant.

Personal: Son of Kevin Coomes and Sherisa Wood ... born April 19, 1992 ... business administration and physical education major. Coomes was the DCCC teammate of current Brave Coltin Ghumm.
